         The reporter learned from Nanjing Metro on July 28 that as of now, Nanjing Metro has interoperable cards with 40 cities across the country. Previously, there was only one channel at each site that could be used to access the National Pass. In the future, it will be expanded to support all gate channels.

According to reports, our province’s bus card has always been at the forefront of the country. Just last year, Jiangsu took the lead in the country in realizing the interconnection of transportation cards among 13 provincial and municipalities in the province. Currently, there are 3,295 bus lines, 26 BRT lines, 10 subway lines, 3 tram lines, 690 public bicycle stations, 6 ferry lines, and 25,986 taxis in the province that can use the transportation card.

Xiao Zhenyu, general manager of Jiangsu Provincial Card Co., Ltd., told reporters that it will take a process for the provincial version of the card to cover all public transportation settings. At present, the initial coverage is bus and subway coverage. As for taxis, it is not yet fully realized. It is expected that by 2017, the provincial version of the card will truly be worthy of its name. As for the nationwide one-card interoperability, according to the current progress, it is estimated that it will not be until 2018. In other words, by the year after next at the latest, having a provincial version of the bus card will allow you to travel all over the country.

Nanjing Metro was earlier deployed in supporting the national bus card. By the end of last year, it was able to achieve interconnection and interoperability with one card swiping channel at each station. At the end of last month, the interconnection and reconstruction task of a total of 2,519 turnstiles on 6 subway lines was completed, achieving full coverage of all subway lines with one-stop transportation cards. At present, Nanjing Metro has achieved interconnection with 40 cities across the country (including 12 cities in Wuxi, Xuzhou, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Lianyungang, Huai'an, Yancheng, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou and Suqian in Jiangsu, as well as Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Handan, Baoding, Zhangjiakou, Chengde, Cangzhou, Langfang, Baotou, Changchun, Jilin, Tonghua, Bengbu, Xiamen, Putian, Sanming, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Nanping, Ningde, Longyan, Qingdao, Zaozhuang, Linyi, Pingdingshan, Chongqing, Xianyang, etc.).

Reporters saw at the opening site yesterday that since the bus cards currently issued by each province are different, there are various types of cards when swiping the card. Fortunately, the subway gates can accurately identify cards from all over the country. Considering that most Nanjing citizens currently use local cards, and local cards cannot be automatically upgraded to the provincial version, it is best for citizens who want to travel all over the country with one card to use another card. It should be reminded that the current provincial card is not a real-name card. Once lost, you can only apply for a new card. In the future, we will gradually transition to real-name card printing.

It is reported that Nanjing Metro and Nanjing Citizen Card Company have opened the 96095 consultation and complaint service hotline. Our province’s transportation card is being piloted in areas such as urban and rural passenger lines, tourist lines, parking lots, etc. It will not be difficult to swipe the card directly when taking high-speed rail in the future.
